Horses have evolved over the centuries and have become domesticated by humans around 4000 BC. There uses were mainly that of a working animal to help increase production and output on the farm. The horse uses its speed to escape from its predators. They are very agile as well as having a great instinct in the fight or flight mode. The human-horse interaction is in the sport competitions to non-competitive recreational pursuits, to working on the farm to working as a therapy animal. Historically, horses were used during warfare. Domestic horse have a lifespan anywhere from 25 to 30 years.
